What does an IT specialist do?
IT specialists are responsible for the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of IT systems. They analyse technical requirements, rectify faults and ensure the security and functionality of hardware and software. Depending on their specialisation (system integration or application development), they programme software solutions or manage networks and IT infrastructures. They also advise users and optimise IT processes in companies.
What is important?
- Technical expertise: Programming (Java, Python, SQL), networks, IT security, operating systems (Windows, Linux), databases, cloud technologies.
- Analytical skills: Logical thinking, problem solving, structured way of working, process optimisation.
- Soft skills: Ability to work in a team, customer-orientation, strong communication skills, initiative.
- Flexibility & willingness to learn: Continuous training in new technologies.
